Uplands Diner, the home of The Beast, welcomed another VIP guest recently.
Andrew RT Davies, Leader of the Welsh Conservatives, stopped by to sample their renowned breakfasts and to discuss support for local businesses with the Diner’s manager Lance Pardoe.
Mr Davies, who was invited to Swansea by Craig Lawton, the Welsh Conservative candidate for Swansea West at May’s Assembly election, said: “It was a pleasure to visit such a thriving local business at the very heart of the community.
“The number of local customers, atmosphere, and great food and drink on offer shows that Uplands Diner is a business very much in tune with its customers.”
Employing 35 people at present, Uplands Diner has gone from strength to strength and has been at the centre of Uplands and Brynmill life for almost 25 years.
Lance Pardoe and his business partner Paul Comisini have branched out in recent years from supplying breakfasts to having a whole menu of choices for local residents, as well as providing online ordering and evening services as well.
Mr Lawton said: “The work that Lance and Paul do is so important to the area as their success helps attract other businesses.
“By giving more support to businesses like theirs we can see a better local economy with more jobs and more choice for local residents.”
Mr Davies added “Welsh Conservatives would lead the most small business friendly government Wales has ever seen.
“It is important that that we do all we can to support businesses such as Uplands Diner which are the lifeblood of our economy.”
